Social Media and Digital Life 🙉

We live in a world where social media has become an integral part of our everyday lives. Wherever we go and whatever we do, we’re always posting about it in some way on online social media, whether it’s Instagram or Facebook.

In 2025, the influencer profession is also becoming increasingly famous. This means that there are content producers who are approached by companies to promote their product so that it reaches as many people as possible, and so that enough people buy it. At the same time, social media would not be complete without emojis, as we use them to express emotion or status.

We are also using more and more emojis in our posts and in the text we write underneath our posts, as we now have many more of these funny emoji heads on our phones than when they were invented. Digital interfaces have become an integral part of our lives, as many of us do our work online and not just post pictures or videos.

📱 TikTok and Instagram Trends in 2025: What’s Really Trending Now 🔥

Trends change quickly on online social media platforms, what’s hot today may not be trendy tomorrow, especially in the world of Instagram and TikTok. Now we’ll take a look at what trends have really taken off on these two online platforms.

Sounds and music are playing a huge role in every post and video. A song can easily become a hit if more and more users on TikTok use it to accompany their videos, so there have been examples of a long forgotten song instantly becoming a hit thanks to the TikTok and playbison community.

This shows well, as in the early 2025s quite a few users used music released in the early 2000s and their views skyrocketed again as modern dance and trends were invented to accompany them.

At the same time, so-called micro-trends are also gaining popularity. But what is a microtrend? It’s done by influencers who have less experience, but who want to post something informative and often start talking about general topics such as book reviews, coffee, spinline or the world of vintage fashion, which, it has to be said, is really popular thanks to microtrends. Why are these trends so successful? Authenticity is a major contributor to their uptake, as more and more users value personal and honest opinions and, as a result, are more likely to follow videos and content that have credibility.

The main character’s content is also growing in popularity, more exactly the POV videos. This type of video is easy for viewers to identify with, as it has a direct tone that draws the viewer closer.

📸 Instagram: Blending Aesthetics and Reality 🤔

While Instagram remains an aesthetic platform, there are still a growing number of realistic spinline posts. The so-called photo dump trend is still alive and kicking, where random pictures from everyday life are posted on the Instagram page in a messy but always lovable format. More and more people are using Instagram as a mini blog, where they tell stories about themselves, their feelings or their current dramas.

AI-based filters have been released on both platforms, which are facial analysis or style-changing effects that evoke the future, for example showing you what your face will look like in 10 or even 30 years later. A lot of people play with these, but there is also a counter-trend of no filter campaigns, where naturalness is being emphasised, as nowadays a lot of people are prioritising playbison, natural lines and don’t really appreciate images with a lot of filters.

To sum up, in 2025, TikTok and Instagram trends will be more about authenticity, creativity and community, and of course there are those who are more about success and views.

Aesthetics are still important, but the pursuit of perfection is no longer the goal, and we can see this in Insta posts as well, as there are more and more people who dare to embrace all the flaws that make them less than perfect on playbison. People want to be connected and not look at who has how much money, they really want to be able to connect with the other person.

🤩 Trend Following or Self-expression? 🙀

The question arises, are we really driving these trends, or are we just following what the majority dictates? More and more people are trying to find their own voice in the chaos and not copy trends, but create their own. In our opinion, spinline is really about self-expression, just like other Instagram or TikTok trends. It’s noticeable that they really like content producers who don’t follow trends but dare to voice their own opinions and share them boldly.
